# n8n Upgrade — Free Trial → Paid Plan

## Why upgrade now

- The free 14-day n8n Cloud trial is expiring (or has expired). Dates depend on when the workspace was created.
- Specsavers Newark go-live needs **persistent webhooks + always-on polling**, which the free trial may suspend or rate-limit.
- Other clients (Wingers, Subway, Pharmacy when live) also rely on these workflows. One n8n workspace serves all.

**Pick Pro at £50/mo.** The current P&L allocates £8/client/mo to n8n (£40/5 clients) — the upgrade fits the model without changing client pricing.

## Steps to upgrade

1. Open https://yourailtd.app.n8n.cloud and sign in
2. **Settings → Plans & Billing**
3. Choose **Pro** (£50/mo, billed monthly)
4. Add card / payment method — **use Your AI Ltd company card, NOT personal**
5. Verify subscription status reads "Active"
6. Note the next billing date (calendar reminder for 1-month review)

## Post-upgrade verification

- [ ] All existing workflows still ACTIVE (especially `8ZFDp01sl6A0vtHe` inbound + booking + post-call webhooks)
- [ ] Webhook URLs unchanged: `https://yourailtd.app.n8n.cloud/webhook/...` (these never change on plan upgrade)
- [ ] No execution credit warning on dashboard
- [ ] Trigger one test workflow manually (e.g. `n8n-retell-cal-workflow.json`) to confirm it runs
- [ ] Check execution log shows "running" not "queued"

## Cost recovery in P&L

Pro plan = £50/mo total.
With 5 clients on Tier 2 at £2,999/mo each = £14,995/mo revenue.
n8n cost = **0.33% of revenue** — negligible.
Allocated cost per client in P&L: £10/mo (already baked into the model, slightly conservative — actual will be £10 once at 5 clients).

## Migration risk

**Low.** n8n cloud upgrade is a billing change — no migration, no restart, no downtime. All webhook URLs, workflow IDs, and credentials persist exactly as before. Same as switching Stripe subscription.

## Rollback (if needed)

If problems post-upgrade:
- Downgrade back to Starter via same Settings → Plans flow
- n8n typically grandfathers existing workflows for ~7 days post-trial-expiry, so even a missed upgrade has a buffer
- **Do not delete workflows** — they survive plan changes

## Open questions (for Sam to settle BEFORE upgrading)

- [ ] Is n8n account billed to Your AI Ltd business card or Sam's personal card?
- [ ] If personal: switch to business card before upgrading to keep accounting clean (xero/bookkeeping)
- [ ] Confirm VAT registration — Pro is £50 + VAT. If VAT-registered, claim back

## After upgrade — schedule next review

- Monthly: check execution count is well under 10,000 cap
- At 5+ clients: re-evaluate whether Pro is still enough or move to Business
- At 8,000 executions/mo (80% of Pro cap): plan upgrade or split to second workspace
